If you are looking for a place to relax by taking a walk next to the sea then Larnaca in Cyprus is the ideal place for you.

A quaint city by the sea that offers a multicultural feel and a history. As an ancient port-of-call for travelers, Larnaca offers visitors the opportunity to explore the Cypriot coast, while having all necessary conveniences at your doorstep.

The most well-known spot in the city is Foikikoudes, which is lined with mature palm trees and flanked by beach, eateries and entertainment. This beautiful avenue it is considered as one of the most pleasant areas for entertainment since there, you will be able to find restaurant and coffee shops for every taste. Across this famous beach many activities take place every day like sports, bazaars, competitions, exhibitions e.t.c. Tourists have the opportunity to interact with the locals in a very friendly environment and in joy their time every day all year long.

When you visit Larnaca do not forget to stop by at one of the salt lakes close to the airport and if you are lucky you might see flamingo’s that they pass from the city every year.

There is no greater wealth in the world than Peace of Mind
My most loved experience however, in this city is when I visit Mackenzie beach to go for swimming or relaxing at the beach, enjoying cold local beers or cocktails and i see the airplanes passing above my head, preparing for landing in the airport that starts where the beach ends. The sounds and the feelings are something that I cannot describe and I believe that anyone who loves to travel feel exactly the same. “Ammos” beach bar is one of my favorites in Mackenzie which has a very good variety of cocktails, very delicious sushi platters and at night they organize amazing parties that last until early in the morning.

Some of the most important monuments that someone has to visit in Larnaca are:
- The church of Saint Lazarus
- Hala Sultan Tekke Mosque
- Medieval Castle at the end of Foinikoudes avenue
- Sotiros Church
- Kebir Buyuk Mosque
- Larnaca’s old Aqueduct
Best period to Visit: Early in the Summer (late May to early July) or after August. Summers in Cyprus are very hot and the humidity in Larnaca is in high levels that makes it uncomfortable if the temperature is also high.
Climate: The climate of the city is hot semi-arid climate due to its low annual rainfall and strong summer drought.
